Professor Diaa K. Shahab is a distinguished medical professional and academic with an extensive career spanning over three decades. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the College of Medicine, Kuwait University.
Prof. Shahab earned her MBBCH from Kuwait University in 1986, laying the foundation for her illustrious career. She pursued further specialization and attained the Canadian Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada at McMaster University in 1993, followed by a Fellowship in electrodiagnostic Medicine and MSK Rehabilitation in1994.
Further continuing learning and advancing her expertise, Prof. Shahab earned a Certificate in Medical Education from Dundee University in 2005 and a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2023. Held Chairperson, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program, PM&R Kuwait board for Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization (KIMS) (2012-2019) . Also, was Vice Dean, Academic affairs, Faculty of Medicine from (2013-2018).
Prof. Shahab has more than 60 publications and authorship in three book chapters. Currently She serves as a Consultant Physiatrist at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, and chair of PM&R Department.
