Dr. Asmahan Abdullah Al-Mulla
Consultant in Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine
Dr. Asmahan Abdullah Al-Mulla is a highly experienced consultant specializing in anesthesia, intensive care, and pain medicine. She holds an M.B.Ch.B. from Glasgow University (1992) and completed a Fellowship in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in London (1998), followed by a Fellowship in Acute and Chronic Pain (2006, UK).
She established the first pain clinic in Kuwait, serving both the Ministry of Health and private sectors. Since 2010, she has been a consultant at Ibn Sina Hospital, where she also serves as the Head of the Pain Unit. Additionally, she has been a part-time consultant at Ahmadi Hospital since 2017.
Previously, Dr. Al-Mulla was the Head of the Anesthesia Department, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine at Ibn Sina Hospital from 2014 to 2018. She is recognized for her expertise in managing chronic pain, particularly failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS), craniofacial pain, and cancer-related pain, as well as advanced interventional techniques like neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal pumps.
Dr. Al-Mulla is an active educator and mentor for postgraduate training through KIMS, focusing on acute and chronic pain management and interventional procedures. She also serves as the Regional Director for the Middle East in the ECMT program.

Presentations & Workshops
Dr. Al-Mulla has directed and participated in numerous international workshops and conferences on neuromodulation, radiofrequency procedures, and advanced pain management techniques. She has conducted live case demonstrations in Kuwait, Spain, and Turkey and organized regular workshops in Kuwait to train physicians in cutting-edge interventional pain procedures.
Dr. Al-Mulla continues to collaborate with global leaders in pain medicine to advance research and practice in the field.
